It would appear that Peter Kurz has mended his ways, active in scamming, spamming and online porn his activities resulted in complaints on the web and The Usenet in 2002-3. This page remains for historical only.
Using an online version of the highlighted entry trick contract persuaded people that they had signed up to advertise on his domains and then demanded money, harassing victims and adding interest. He would offer to remove listings , but this also involved a fee. in late 2004 his websites vanished.

The Highlighted Entry Trick Contract
This specific form of trick contract highlights fees for highlighted, premium or bold entries in a directory while disguising the fact that the basic entry is not free. Often this is done by having the enhanced entries listed with checkboxes next to them and the underlying fee hidden in the small print
In Peter Kurz's online version the basic listing was free only if the user linked back to his site, the fee was displayed but most of the info was hidden in the terms and conditions, When a visitor filled out the form there was a checkbox to agree to the terms of the website, most visitors checked this box without clicking the link in order to see the terms, thus many never saw that a fee was expected Example on Archive.org. Entries in to the directory were solicited by spam emails sent to business addresses encouraging the recipients to register for a search engine listing and providing a link. (Example, May 2003)
StopECG believe that where websites require a fee it should be impossible to complete the submission process without the fee being demanded. In this manner it would be impossible for operators like Peter Kurz to solicit entries in a database and then hit people with unexpected demands for money at a later date.
